Technical video of Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point Site Formation and Infrastructure Works
To promote cross-boundary infrastructure development and strengthen Hong Kong-Shenzhen cooperation with mainland China, Chun Wo Construction, a subsidiary of Asia Allied Infrastructure, contracted the project of Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point Site Formation and Infrastructure Works in 2013.
The Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point (BCP) will connect with the expressway systems in Hong Kong and Shenzhen: the Shenzhen Eastern Corridor will connect the BCP with the Shenzhen-Huizhou and Shenzhen-Shantou Expressways while the Connecting Road in Hong Kong will connect the BCP with Fanling Highway. People and cargo flow across the boundary will become smoother and more efficient. It will bring significant economic benefits to Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
The most challenging part of the project is to ensure that the bridge segments are installed over the Fanling Highway and the railway tracks while the public transport can function normally. To tackle this problem, we had constructed a pier head table with a mobile lifting frame on it and started the installation when the last train leaves at midnight. The project team has applied the principle “overhead operation” for installation thus the total number of 198 segments can be smoothly installed.
Let’s watch below the technical video of Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point Site Formation and Infrastructure Works for more details:
